Opera has recently released an pre-alpha of it’s upcoming 10.5 release. The upcoming version feature a new JaveScript engine which increased performance by 7 times.

OS integration is being greatly improved as well. OS X improvements include a complete rewrite in cocoa which means a unified toolbar, native buttons, scrollbar, and multi-touch gestures as well as Growl integration.

• Opera’s core rendering engine has also been updated in 10.5 this upcoming version utilizes Presto 2.5 which features the most complete CSS 2.1 implementation (it even supports visibility: collapse which was missing until now), it also has the latest support for many of the new CSS3 and HTML5 properties.

• Opera 10.5 also includes a new graphics library, Vega,  which can be hardware accelerated for even faster page rendering. Vega was specially designed just for Opera and supports all platforms, phones to TVs and desktop computers alike.

Furballs is a mash-up of Bejeweled and Snood type game play. It doesn’t end there though. Using the familiar “tap and draw” control system made popular by Flight Control, you must guide the colorful furballs through space to make matches. As you progress, special objects appear such as meteors which can burn furballs, comets which freeze them, wildcard furballs and satellites too.

Very addicting and very clever. Even if you’re not into puzzle games you really should give this one a try as it much more than just a puzzle game.

The age of the Netbook is upon us, whether it’s good or bad is another question for another day. The whole idea of the Netbook is an ultra portable computer with a focus on web use and light tasks. Netbooks usually have smaller screens, lower power CPU’s, and limited graphical capabilities. But that doesn’t mean they can’t excel and conquer your busy web life.

A traditional operating system is not necessarily the best solution for your NetBook. That is why I rounded up five different operating systems to help you get the most out of your Netbook.

1. Jolicloud - Jolicloud transforms your netbook into a sophisticated web device that taps into the cloud to expand your computing possibilities. The web already hosts a significant part of our lives: mails, photos, videos, and friends are already somewhere online. Jolicloud was built to make the computer and web part of the same experience.
2. gOS – gOS, Like Jolicloud, is a cloud based OS. Cloud computing is an idea that what makes up your “personal computer” – your desktop, your apps, and your data, – can live and run on the Internet instead of on your hard drive. This leaves your drive space free for important files like music, movies, and photos. No wasting space on system files or bulky apps.
3. Android - Just recently, Google’s Mobile OS Android was ported to the desktop/x86 platform. Currently available as a livecd or live usb image. Android delivers a complete set of software for mobile devices: an operating system, middleware and key mobile applications. The Android marketplace is a great place to find new and fun apps.
4. Snow Leopard – Apple’s recent release of Snow Leopard has many aspects that all Netbook owners will love. They have decreased the footprint size down to just under 6GB. This can be slimmed down even more by using programs like Xslimmer. The OS has also been fully optimized to rake advantage of new mulit-core CPUs. The re-written Finder code will ensure that Snow Leopard is just as fast as all those other lightweight distros while still keeping all of OS X’s great features.
5. Arch – Arch Linux is a lightweight and flexible Linux distribution that tries to Keep It Simple. They currently have releases optimized for i686 and x86_64 CPUs.  Arch is very polished and it provides all the tools and apps you will need to get your Netbook running just the way you like it.

Let’s say you accidentally delete that 8 page report that you were supposed to have for a meeting tomorrow. A handy Dropbox feature is the ability to undelete files or pull up any previous versions of it. You can also share files and folders with whomever you choose, whether it be music with buddies, docs with colleagues or photos with grandma, even if they’re not Dropbox users.
